What could be the cause of loss of hair in a woman?

Most likely the culprit is malnutrition, especially if it's a young woman. Older woman CAN experience hair thinning just like older men, but if it's a young woman, it's probably because she's not eating enough.

What can cause a young woman in her 20s to experience hair loss when she is not stressing?

Hair loss does not run in the family especially not from ages 21 to 28. Hair has been thinning out since the age of 21 and stress is not an issue. What can cause a young woman in her 20s to experience hair loss when she is not stressing?
nothing but two reasons

one is genetical. you cannot change

other is the environment . bad water,(salt water),over usage of chemicals, shampoo etcWhat can cause a young woman in her 20s to experience hair loss when she is not stressing?
maybe she doesnt eat healthy food which her hair %26amp;body need it .
It could be a vitamin issue, I would consult a nutritionist.
This has happened to me. She should get a blood test done to see if it may be her thyroid or even iron deficiency. Telogen Effluvian is the diagnostic name that encompases such hair loss.

I purchased some nice headbands that expand to cover the whole head so to disguise the patchy hair loss as it happened.
Malnutrition, chemicals or just thinning hair.
She should have her thyroid checked.
Anemia. You may want to consider going to the doctor soon to get bloodwork (including a ferritin test) done, especially considering that each hair you lose will take a long time to grow back. May sound like a simple solution, but it would be worth it to find out from a doctor how to take care of this problem and push it out of your life for good. Good luck.

I know that the pill is used to treat Hirsutism in women, but can being on it lead to hair loss on ur head?

There are many ways to battle hirsutism or hair loss. The first and most important step is to consult your endocrinologist and make sure that the replacement medication you are taking is adequate. Then, if hirsutism is the problem, discuss the various options presented here with your endocrinologist and/or dermatologist and find a treatment plan with which you are comfortable. If you choose electrolysis or laser therapy, your doctor may be able to recommend a well-trained local professional.

Apart from PCOS what could cause unwanted hair growth on face/stomach/breast and loss of head hair in a woman?

I had a blood test and my hormone levels are normal, yet I have those symptoms. My hair on my head is thinning but as fast as I pluck body/face hairs they're coming back within a couple of days and I hate it.

What could be causing it? Has anyone else experienced this and would going on the pill help?Apart from PCOS what could cause unwanted hair growth on face/stomach/breast and loss of head hair in a woman?
Possibly an underactive thyroid. Other than that, it could be an hereditary condition. Ask your doc if your thyroid function was checked as well as your other hormone levels. Also, you could have hormone levels within normal range and still have PCOS. An ultrasound would confirm this.Apart from PCOS what could cause unwanted hair growth on face/stomach/breast and loss of head hair in a woman?
The pill could help , but you would be better going back to the doctors , if you are trying for a baby then going back on the pill will just delay it even longer , Ive pocs myself and the hairs drive me mad as well , I've a pair of tweezers in my hand all the time.
Stress can cause this.

  • What woman can do if she suffers hair loss in her mid 30s?

I am 35 and I 've noticed that evry time I comb I find many hairs in my comb, any medicines, herbs, tips? What woman can do if she suffers hair loss in her mid 30s?
    Hi there,

If hair loss is on the scalp and not caused by any pathological condition like thyroid malfunction, anemia, radiation therapy, then it is a common inherited condition that is contributed by age - though it may appear at any age - this condition is called androgenetic alopecia

Since the present therapies produce temporary results, and as long you use them, it is better to understand what makes your hair in a healthy condition all the time.

Here is a blog that affords you some useful tips on how to keep your hair in a healthy condition:

    Hi !

Natural Hair Loss solution is the best !

All those unnatural ways to grow hair with harsh chemicals and by plugging in hair transplants are earning huge corporations billions of dollars and doctors hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

Why would they be foolish enough to promote something that would cost you less than $15 in grocery store stuff that are able to naturally regrow your lost hair ?

Side Effects Of Common Drugs For Hair Loss Treatment :

    Hello Simsim

Today it鈥檚 almost as common for woman to experience hair loss as men. Since looks are usually much more important to woman then men hair loss can have a severe psychological effect. For men, it can be a relatively normal part of life; however it鈥檚 almost impossible for woman to be socially acceptable when they have no or thinning hair.

There are many reasons why some women experience hair loss. Some of these reasons can be the same as men. For example, certain medications can have an effect on hair loss. Often times, just like with men, hair loss can be hereditary. Pattern baldness can be passed down from one generation to the next and isn鈥檛 gender specific.

However there are a few reasons that are very specific to woman only. For example menopause, can be a cause of hair loss in women. Unlike some things that are preventable, menopause is a natural part of a woman鈥檚 life cycle.

Often times people don鈥檛 notice hair loss in woman as much as they do in men. It鈥檚 much more fashionable for woman to wear hats and scarves, while men generally don鈥檛 do so. Woman can also run into psychological problems, related to losing their hair. Because of this counseling becomes something else that women need to be aware of. However it may be a good thing to see a counselor if the trauma because too great.

So what can you do? It鈥檚 importance to understand that, while many times it鈥檚 unpreventable. There are steps that you can take to minimize the impact of hair loss. It鈥檚 a good idea to see a doctor. If they feel that it鈥檚 necessary they can refer you to a specialist. Keep in mind that there may be side effects to any treatment options. However with the help of your doctor or specialist you should be able to choose the treatment that鈥檚 right for you.

get your thyroid checked immediately, simple blood test. I have hypothyroid, and thats how it started with me
Most hair loss in women is HEREDITY. Does your mother have a history with hair loss? You should see a hair stylist who specializes in those problems.
Sounds like a hormone or thyroid issue. Possibly stress, too. If you've been in a stressful situation (school, work, romance, whatever) it'll make you put on weight and thin your hair. Try joining a yoga class for awhile - the extra exercise might help your hormones balance out, and the stress-relieving factor might also do the trick. If you don't think it's any of these, check with your doctor.

    Good luck!
